Wedding Day Nails | Part 1

Wedding Manicures Part 1

Hello Readers,

I’m so excited to share these manis I came up with for wedding day nails! A good friend of mine is getting married in less than two weeks and I wanted to be able to show her some different options for her bridal nails. Of course, I’ll be doing them and I wouldn’t have it any other way! There will be a part 2 as I’ve ordered some pretty ‘nail charms’ that should arrive next week.

The whole concept of my friend Brittany’s wedding is ‘classy bling’, she has a lot of elements of silver, crystals and her accent color is a baby blue or light aqua shade. I kept those ideas in mind when coming up with these manis. Some of these are more bold while others are soft. I figure I could do any of these in any combination for the bridesmaids as well (if they’d like me to of course!).

Wedding Manis Part 1

For the first manicure I did a ‘jelly sandwich’ which consists of 1 coat of Essie ‘Sugar Daddy’ + 1 coat of Essie ‘Set in Stones’ + 1 coat of Essie ‘Sugar Daddy’. I like how this creates a soft and romantic look yet still has a touch of ‘bling’. You’re also not committed to a color since this is a sheer pink like that of a French manicure.

For the next mani I kept with the pink and silver idea only this time it’s not as soft and sheer. I used 2 coats of butter London ‘Teddy Girl’ and butter London ‘Diamond Geezer’ for the tips. I used a little bit of nail striping tape (which isn’t as sticky as regular tape) to create the crisp line.

For my third mani I decided to use a nude base with glittery polka dots! The base is 2 coats of Deborah Lippman ‘Naked’ and the polka dots are China Glaze ‘Glistening Snow’. I didn’t want the polka dots to be a real dark silver so I used a dense fine glitter polish. I think it came out quite nice!

For my fourth mani I thought using some texture would make things interesting so I used 2 coats of OPI Liquid Sands ‘Solitaire’ and I used some fake half white pearls on an accent nail. I did use a clear topcoat to make this shiny but you could certainly keep the texture rough and use nail glue for the pearls. I thought it added more depth with the top coat!

For my fifth mani I decided to use a subtle hint of Brittany’s accent color! Appropriately enough, I used 2 coats of Essie ‘Borrowed and Blue’ and I sponged white on the tips using Cult Nails ‘Tempest’ (one of those amazing opaque in 1 coat white polishes). I then added 1 coat of China Glaze ‘Fairy Dust’ to add a hint of sparkle. I just couldn’t let it be too plain!

Ok, so I keep hearing Brittany whispering in my ear ‘more bling, more bling’ so here’s the same mani as above but with MORE bling! Haha! I added Essie ‘Set in Stones’ at the tips. What do you guys think? Too much or just right?!

So, what do you guys think? Which would you choose? Would you change or alter any of the above manis for your own wedding or a friends wedding? Thanks so much for taking your time to view this post! Until next time…

Oooh, pretty! My favorites are the jelly sandwich and the gradient ones. I also like the white texture with pearls, but I think I personally would prefer the pearls on all the nails. Any of them will be absolutely beautiful, though!

For my wedding day, I wore China Glaze – I’m Not Lion. It was a pretty, sparkly, neutral and the name also had meaning to me. The first card I gave my now-hubby had a little cartoon lion on it and said “I love you”…then inside, it said “and I’m not lion!” hehe, it was cute and it became a saying we used for a while after that. So I had to use that polish! For our honeymoon, I wore Essie Trophy Wife topped with XOXO Mr. & Mrs. Smith (black and white topper), as I became Mrs. Smith! Haha, the polish names all worked out really well! I was going to wear Trophy Wife on my toes for the wedding, as teal was my “color”, but I had pink shoes and I was afraid it might clash. Ok sorry, I just wrote a novel about my own wedding/polish choices… 😛

Congratulations to your friend and she’s lucky to have you design such pretty and delicate bridal mani options! 🙂

Every one of these is a winner! I like the one with the dots best!!! Still kicking myself I never found that China glaze shade – well I found it when it was first out but thought I had a ton of silver glitters and should not pick it up…then it started to catch on like wildfire and I wanted it big time!

I LOVE the 5th mani! It’s subtle, but it’s not, if that even makes sense lol
And the 6th seems perfect for your friends wedding.
    They’re all amazing though!
The 5th would be perfect for the bridesmaids and the 6th for the bride, imo.

  6. They are all very pretty but I think I love the first one the best. It would be interesting to see you do this with the light blue polish 🙂 Glad to see you being creative again….❤

    • Hehe I could do the base as a light blue but don’t know if I have a sheer baby blue to recreate this same look. Thank you! =)
