Wedding Day Nails | Part 1
I’m so excited to share these manis I came up with for wedding day nails! A good friend of mine is getting married in less than two weeks and I wanted to be able to show her some different options for her bridal nails. Of course, I’ll be doing them and I wouldn’t have it any other way! There will be a part 2 as I’ve ordered some pretty ‘nail charms’ that should arrive next week.
The whole concept of my friend Brittany’s wedding is ‘classy bling’, she has a lot of elements of silver, crystals and her accent color is a baby blue or light aqua shade. I kept those ideas in mind when coming up with these manis. Some of these are more bold while others are soft. I figure I could do any of these in any combination for the bridesmaids as well (if they’d like me to of course!).
For the first manicure I did a ‘jelly sandwich’ which consists of 1 coat of Essie ‘Sugar Daddy’ + 1 coat of Essie ‘Set in Stones’ + 1 coat of Essie ‘Sugar Daddy’. I like how this creates a soft and romantic look yet still has a touch of ‘bling’. You’re also not committed to a color since this is a sheer pink like that of a French manicure.
For the next mani I kept with the pink and silver idea only this time it’s not as soft and sheer. I used 2 coats of butter London ‘Teddy Girl’ and butter London ‘Diamond Geezer’ for the tips. I used a little bit of nail striping tape (which isn’t as sticky as regular tape) to create the crisp line.
For my third mani I decided to use a nude base with glittery polka dots! The base is 2 coats of Deborah Lippman ‘Naked’ and the polka dots are China Glaze ‘Glistening Snow’. I didn’t want the polka dots to be a real dark silver so I used a dense fine glitter polish. I think it came out quite nice!
For my fourth mani I thought using some texture would make things interesting so I used 2 coats of OPI Liquid Sands ‘Solitaire’ and I used some fake half white pearls on an accent nail. I did use a clear topcoat to make this shiny but you could certainly keep the texture rough and use nail glue for the pearls. I thought it added more depth with the top coat!
For my fifth mani I decided to use a subtle hint of Brittany’s accent color! Appropriately enough, I used 2 coats of Essie ‘Borrowed and Blue’ and I sponged white on the tips using Cult Nails ‘Tempest’ (one of those amazing opaque in 1 coat white polishes). I then added 1 coat of China Glaze ‘Fairy Dust’ to add a hint of sparkle. I just couldn’t let it be too plain!
Ok, so I keep hearing Brittany whispering in my ear ‘more bling, more bling’ so here’s the same mani as above but with MORE bling! Haha! I added Essie ‘Set in Stones’ at the tips. What do you guys think? Too much or just right?!
So, what do you guys think? Which would you choose? Would you change or alter any of the above manis for your own wedding or a friends wedding? Thanks so much for taking your time to view this post! Until next time…
