OPI ‘Pussy Galore’

Day 1 Post Surgery

Hello Readers,

First of all, thank you to everyone who’s continued to follow this blog. It really means a lot to me to know that you guys haven’t given up on Luxe Beauty Forever! I have to say it really was not my intent to go so long without a post and I have every intention of making consistent posts from here on out. I was posting 3 times a week but I will be posting twice a week from now on, that may change over time. My new schedule will be Monday’s and Thursday’s. Since it’s been nearly 4 months since I’ve made a post I thought I’d give a brief summary of why I’ve been M.I.A.  with an appropriate manicure to follow.

This past Thursday, August 29th I had a hysterectomy which included removal of my ovaries, uterus and appendix. This was done using the laproscopic method which means it was all robotic. My wounds are laser incisions that have glue over them. This past January, I had a lot of pain and found out I had large cysts on each of my ovaries (I was told the size of a tennis ball). At that time I had them removed via surgery and the doctor found out I had pretty bad endometriosis splattered everywhere. They would have removed everything at the time but since my appendix was fused and wrapped around my right ovary and I wasn’t in the hospital they couldn’t take the risk of my appendix bursting which can be fatal.

Of course, you’d guess my pain didn’t subside from the cyst removal. Now, I had always wanted “my shit ripped out” because I knew I didn’t want children and I had always had bad aches and pains. When I say pain I mean all of the following; pain before and during periods (in ovaries, lower back, etc.), insanely heavy bleeding therefore cramps during period, heavy bleeding other than during my period, pain with sex, fatigue and feeling lethargic, painful urination and bowel movements, and lots of other gastrointestinal upsets such as diarrhea, constipation, and nausea. Basically, I haven’t been a happy camper for quite a while! My pre and post surgery experience has been great so far and my post-operation appointment is in a few weeks. Also, as a side note I just turned 30 on August 15th. At that time we’ll discuss hormone replacement therapy to get my hormones on track. Turns out they’ve been off for quite some time, I believe too much estrogen considering they didn’t give me the patch after my surgery and this problem has run in my family. So… yay no periods for me! Although, that is the cherry on top and the icing is not being able to have kids! Needless to say I’m taking some time off work to heal so on with blogging!

Now for an oh so appropriate mani… OPI Liquid Sands ‘Pussy Galore’! Ok, c’mon I know it’s cheesy but feast your eyes on this pearly pink! It has OPI’s ‘liquid sands’ texture plus there are darker pink glitters…

So, what do you guys think of these new textured polishes? I have to admit I like them much more than the ‘crackle’ polishes that used to be so popular. Thank you guys for taking the time to read this post, now onward! Until next time…

Cheers,
Bridget

  1. Well I’m glad that you are recovering nicely! I hope that continues!!

I am loving the textured polishes, but only the ones with shimmer or glitter in them. The plain texture that looks like stucco is not for me 🙂

That polish is perfect for this post! Gotta love that name, lol! And the polish itself is beauuutiful! I have yet to try any textured polishes and I have no idea why, I really must remedy to that soon!!

    • It’s funny (now) because I didn’t know that half of those problems were because of my endometriosis! Thank you so much hun. LOL yes this polish (both name and color) couldn’t be more perfect. I really like the OPI ‘Alcatraz Rocks’ Liquid Sand polish that just came out with the San Francisco collection – you should look that one up! :o)
