Guest Post from Wes at ‘Polish Me Manly’

Here’s the second installment of ‘Guys Takeover Week’ featuring Wes of ‘Polish Me Manly’. Wes is a fairly new nail blogger and has such a love for polishes that it reminds me of me when I first started!
Hello Luxe Beauty Forever readers!
My name is Wes. I bet you’re thinking, ” Hey, that doesn’t sound like a woman’s name!” Well, it’s not, I’m a man. I LOVE nail polish. I love everything about it. I have a blog of my own called Polish Me Manly, polishmemanly.blogspot.com. I can also be found on Twitter @polishmemanly. I’ve only been blogging for a short time. I actually didn’t start painting my nails until September of this year.
I’m honored to be able to invade Bridget’s blog for the day. I started following her on Twitter, because a few others that I followed did. I am so glad that I did, because I immediately, started readingthe blog as well, and I really enjoy it!
Since I’m a bit of a noob, I have looked at probably thousand’s of pics searching for polishes that I wanted to try and seeing that others had. I found pics of a mani using Max Factor Fantasy Fire. I looked at pic after pic of this polish, and instantly fell in love with it. So I started searching in stores and online only to find out they do not sell it in the US. This is a polish that is easily found overseas. So I talked about it on Twitter that I was lemming it so hard, and one of my friends from England offered to ship me a bottle. I was so excited, that my biggest lemming was on it’s way to me.
Max Factor Fantasy Fire is a multichromatic nail polish, but is very sheer once applied, so I think it works best on top of a darker color. I learned this from many folks on twitter that suggested I use a dark blue as undies for Fantasy Fire.
I am wearing two coats of Julep Gunta as my base color with two coats of Fantasy fire. Gunta is a stunning blue. You can see from the pics, that Fantasy Fire, looks purple on top of it, but it is shimmery and beautiful in my opinion.
I hope you all like my mani. Thank you Bridget for letting my take over today, and for answering my noob questions.
Thank you, Wes for participating in ‘Guys Takeover Week’! Friday will feature Fitsy from Lacquer Lad. Until then…
♥ Cheers,
Bridget
Lucky you Wes to have a bottle of FF! That’s been a much coveted one since it came out as it was a close dupe for an iconic topper of about 7 yrs ago from Clarins that many called Unicorn Puke – it’s real name was #530 (I think…now I am second guessing myself and too early here still to get out of bed and look at my stash). It looks great over this bright blue. Glad to ‘meet ya!’
Unicorn Pee, Clarins 230. 😉
Yes! The oh so coveted Clarins polish!
Bridget, Thank you for letting me take over today! I really appreciate it.
