Hello loves! I’ve been thinking for a while that I wanted to change my nail shape and luckily (ha ha) my index finger on my left hand split all the way down to the nail plate so I had to trim it. What a perfect opportunity to ‘start fresh’ and try a new nail shape? Right?! Right now they’re very short (free edges on a few nails, some of my nail beds on certain fingers are longer than others).
I decided to wear neutrals for a few days until they grow out just a bit longer and I can shape them properly. One of my favorite sort of odd neutral shade is Illamasqua ‘Bacterium’. This is an unusual yellow leaning taupe with a whitish-blue sheen and a pearl finish. Normally, I’m not a fan of pearl finishes because of the brush stroke effect left behind. For some reason I don’t mind the slight brush strokes and I really like this color! The formula is smooth and not too thick. As with any pearl finishes use as little brush strokes as possible and don’t make short brush strokes. I’ve used 2 coats for the photos below.
Illamasqua polishes can be found directly on their website here (links directly to the nails portion of the website) for £13.50 (or $21.64) and via Sephora online here (links directly to the nails portion of the website) and in their stores for $14.00. What do you guys think of this polish? Do you mind the pearl brush stroke-y finish? Until next time…
