Boscia ‘Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel’ (Review of Product & Packaging)
Hello Lovely Readers,
I’m making sure that I use a product until it’s empty or half empty before I write a review. I’ve used the entire 1 ounce container of Boscia’s ‘Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel’ over the span of 3 months. I applied a controlled ‘pump’ of this product in the morning and at night. I have to say that with my sensitive and acne prone (I’ve been on the strongest prescribed acne oral medications twice) I really love this moisturizer and considering this product lasted me 3 months of regular use I’ll gladly dish out $38.00 again. It has a thick but absorbant texture that has a very subtle cooling effect. The smell is pleasant (very light and not a ‘perfume’ type of smell either) and the color is a dark gray (almost black) due to the charcoal in it that absorbs the oil.
Now, one of the biggest complaints regarding this product is it’s packaging. According to many of the reviews on Sephora’s website (you can see here) people thought the ‘pump’ was difficult to control and they felt there was still a lot of product left in the container after the ‘pump’ stopped working. Well, my opinion is that it’s not difficult to control. You can very easily push down lightly to get the right amount of product. Also, when the ‘pump’ stops working the product is truly empty. How do I know? I took the container apart! (Ok, my wonderful fiancé did)
Here are the photos to show you really are getting your money’s worth!
If you’re skeptical about purchasing this product because of container I hope this cleared it up for you. If you have any combination of the following skin types then I highly recommend this product: oily, normal, sensitive, fair, and/or acne-prone.
Until next time…
